Something happened today that made me rethink the purpose of wordboner.

One faithful soul messaged me about a post with a recent wordbonerism, but with removed logo. There was no linkage to wordboner.com or the store, nothing. Suddenly it became his or hers own work.

These things happen all the time, but what struck me is that the stolen piece had almost twice as much notes as the original. To which point I thought to myself, what’s the use?

So - starting today, wordboner goes on a hiatus until further notice. Maybe for a month, maybe for a week, maybe until I figure out how to protect wordbonerisms better from being stolen like that. Believe me, it’s fucked up when you’re trying to make something, you put your time and soul into it, and then it’s taken away with two mouse clicks. Maybe it’s the sign of the times we live in, maybe nobody really owns nothing on the internet, but for me, it just feels wrong.

In the meantime, please visit the archive, wordbonerstore, recommend us and follow on facebook. And of course, please still follow on tumblr. All wordbonerisms and teeboners will of course still be available. If you know of any other stories like this, or you just want to say hello, you can here.
